Publishing Terms for Accepted Authors
1. Hybrid Publishing Model
If your manuscript is selected, you’ll enter a hybrid publishing agreement with 5 Two Press, where both you and 5 Two Press share in bringing your book to market. This model requires a one-time administrative fee of $1,500 to cover essential publishing services, including ISBN registration, barcode assignment, copyright, and access to worldwide distribution channels.
Please note: This fee does not cover editing, formatting, or cover design services. However, our team provides guidance and referrals to trusted professionals in these areas.
2. Rights and Copyright
As an accepted author, you retain full ownership and copyright of your work. The book is copyrighted in your name, ensuring your creative control. 5 Two Press will register this copyright within 90 days of publication.
3. Publishing Timeline
Once your manuscript and materials are ready, the publishing process typically takes 6-9 months from acceptance to release.
4. Royalty Structure
5 Two Press offers a competitive royalty structure:
- Print and Audiobooks: 70% to the author, 30% to 5 Two Press
- Ebooks: 80% to the author, 20% to 5 Two Press
These royalties are based on net earnings, which include deductions for printing, shipping, and distribution platform fees. Royalties are paid semi-annually on June 30th and December 30th. Payments under $75 will roll over to the next period.
5. Marketing and Distribution
Your book will receive marketing support through 5 Two Press’s channels, including social media, email newsletters, and select events. Annual marketing spotlights will also feature your book on its release anniversary.
6. Cancellation Policy
Both 5 Two Press and the author reserve the right to cancel the publishing agreement under certain conditions, including failure to meet agreed-upon terms. Written notice and a 30-day resolution period will be provided if either party wishes to cancel.
Agreement Confirmation
By submitting your manuscript, you agree to these terms and understand that acceptance into the publishing program is not guaranteed. You also understand that it may take up to 1-3 months to receive a response regarding your submission status.
